Sensei Vavitis says there is only one way to enter a national tournament where the best of best travel from all over the country to compete. You need to have balance, flexibility, strength, good mental health, speed and power to react without thought but most of all unlimited body fitness that comes after many years of hard and skillful training.
I trained my fighters 6 days a week with all the above mentioned and more. I conditioned their bodies and minds to a level where no full contact punch or kick was hard enough to take any of my fighters down, they were victorious! I hope in years to come all my students will keep training hard and with spirit to never give up!
I would like to congratulate all 15 competitors of Extreme Kyokushin Karate Melbourne on their wonderful performance at the Sydney IKO National Tournament 2009. EKK managed to bring back to Melbourne many trophies which included: five 1st place positions, two 2nd place positions, and three 3rd place positions.
